3D Modeling & Animation Reflections
2025-2026
2025-2026
I develop into the concepts of creating three-dimensional objects camera scenes and bringing them to life through animation techniques. The activities included exercises that allowed me to experiment with different tools and methods. Specifically, I explored topics such as camera angling, where i've learned to construct camera's by manipulating vertices, edges, and faces. I've also covered texturing, which involves applying images or materials to the surface of our models to give them a more realistic appearance. A technique where we define specific poses at certain points in time, and the software interpolates the movement between those poses. which helped me understand the principles of timing and spacing in animation. Where 3D models are used to create realistic renderings of camera scenes. This can be useful for presenting design concepts to clients or for marketing purposes. The techniques I learned in this module have helped me with creating 3D camera scenes.
My work:
DATE: November/03/2025
This quarter, I focused on improving my 3D modeling skills in 3ds Max, the challenges I faced about how my understanding of 3D modeling concepts has grown. At the beginning of the quarter, I had a basic understanding of modeling, but I wanted to create more realistic and detailed designs. Throughout this term, I learned how to use tools like Editable Poly modeling, UVW mapping, and V-Ray rendering, which helped me take my work to a higher level. I also explored lighting and camera settings, which allowed me to make my models look more professional and visually appealing. These new skills became the foundation for my projects and helped me better express my artistic vision. One project that really improved my understanding was a Lego figure design assignment. It challenged me to apply accurate proportions, realistic textures. Another one was the lighting effects Citizen Kane. At first, I struggled with texture mapping and getting the lighting to look natural, but I overcame these issues by experimenting with HDRI lighting and adjusting material properties until the results looked believable. Through this process, I developed a deeper understanding of how small details, such as light reflections and surface textures, can completely change the quality of a 3D scene. I also found that watching tutorials and asking for peer feedback were helpful strategies in solving problems and refining my work. Overall, this quarter has helped me build confidence in using 3ds Max and strengthened my ability to plan, model, and render complex scenes. I now feel more comfortable working with materials, lighting, and rendering tools than I did before. My main goal for the next quarter is to improve my animation and particle effects skills to bring more life and motion to my projects. I am proud of the progress I have made so far, and I look forward to continuing to grow as a 3D artist by applying everything I have learned to even more advanced projects.
