ELA website

Dear Student and Parent/Guardian,

Welcome to Team Legend and 8th grade English Language Arts!

I am excited to begin a new school year with you, and would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (go Heels!) with a degree in Middle Grades Education. Additionally, I obtained a minor in linguistics during my time at the university, and as a result, I have combined my passion for language with my passion for teaching in order to foster a classroom of engagement. When I'm not at school, I enjoy watching football and basketball, cooking, writing, reading, and exercising.

This year we will cover many units that align with the Common Core English Language Arts standards, which can be found here. Most assignments and resources will be posted through Google Classroom; however, please be sure to check back to this website for announcements and important documents occasionally. You can find homework for ELA posted under the calendar which is linked in on the homepage.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or just to introduce yourself.

Best,

Ms. Hannah Mickey
