Artist Statement: "Moving Day is about the struggles I have had with gender dysphoria and the complicated process that is loving myself. I am hopeful that one day my body will eventually feel like home. But I don't want to learn to love myself by hitchhiking out of my skin and never looking back. Instead, I'd like to love my body like an empty apartment: four walls that have been worth loving from the start that are just the foundation of the house I can, through careful decoration and living in, turn into a home."

Artist Statement: "Maybe everything won't be okay, but for now I'm 16 and daydreaming and it sure seems like it will. The idealism of youth has me firm in its grasp, and makes me hopeful that someday the silly dreams that float around my head will come true. This is a self portrait of me in my bedroom, and one of the places where I feel the most at peace."
