School Counseling Mission Statement
The mission of the Chattooga County School’s comprehensive counseling program is to enhance educational performance by providing all students access to a comprehensive school counseling program that advocates for the academic, career, and social/emotional mindset necessary to become lifelong learners who are college and career ready. The mission of the professional school counselor will be supported and strengthened by collaboration with teachers, staff, administration, parents, and community advocates.
School Counseling Vision Statement
The vision of the Chattooga County Schools’ comprehensive school counseling program is to help students to exceed expectations in academic achievement and develop positive life skills allowing them to become world-class leaders and collaborators who will make a positive difference in society.
School Counselor Beliefs
All students can achieve a high level of personal success and have dignity and worth.
All students should have access to a professional school counselor as well as a comprehensive school counseling program.
The school counseling program will focus on primary prevention and counselors will advocate for all students.
Professional school counselors will use data analysis to inform counseling program development and will actively monitor student results.
All professional school counselors will abide by the ethical guidelines of the American School Counselors Association and the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
All students’ ethnic, cultural, and racial differences are accepted in the design and delivery of school counseling services.
