Mandy's background in teaching kindergarten and first grade has given her a profound understanding of child development and early literacy. Her outstanding contributions to education were recognized when she was named District Teacher of the Year, highlighting her exceptional teaching and dedication to student success. As a certified LETRS facilitator, Mandy's expertise in literacy instruction is further demonstrated, reflecting her commitment to advancing effective literacy practices and supporting fellow educators with evidence-based strategies. Carla Henry brings more than 35 years of extensive experience to the Let’s Read Georgia Team, fueled by her deep commitment to literacy and fostering lifelong learners. Her career has spanned various roles, beginning as a dedicated elementary classroom teacher and progressing to positions as an assistant principal at both elementary and middle school levels. Her most impactful role was as a transformational elementary school principal, where she made significant strides in educational leadership. Upon retiring from her principalship, Carla continued to make a difference as a K-5 interventionist, leveraging her expertise to develop effective interventions and collaborate with educators to improve student outcomes. She joined the Chattahoochee-Flint RESA team in July 2024 as a regional literacy coach, where she focuses on providing professional development and coaching in the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy. Carla’s work is centered on enhancing the skills of coaches and teachers to drive student success. She is passionate about instilling a love for literacy, believing that it has the power to transform students' lives, positively impact families, and enrich the community.
Dee Studdard brings three decades of experience to the Let’s Read, Georgia Team, driven by a deep passion for literacy and transforming students' lives. With a strong grasp of educational challenges, she leverages her vast expertise to help schools achieve excellence. Dee joined the Chattahoochee-Flint RESA family in July 2019, contributing to the School Improvement Team, GSLA Teacher Induction Initiative, and the Growing Readers Project. Over the course of her career, she has thrived in roles such as teacher, instructional coach, and school leader. Dee has made a significant impact on improving educational outcomes by offering her expert guidance to schools. Her unwavering commitment to literacy and student success drives her collaborative efforts to implement effective strategies that foster continuous growth and literacy development. Dee believes literacy is the key to offering opportunities and works tirelessly to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
