How did you get to go to these locations?
The experiences that informed the work on this website were through two primary organizations and their generous teacher fellowships:
PolarTREC Teacher Researcher Fellowship: through PolarTREC I was embedded with an international research team studying the migration and carry-over effects of Arctic Seabirds in Savoonga, on St. Lawrence Island in the Bering Sea. A blog tracking my time and what I learned can be found here on the PolarTREC website.
National Geographic/ Lindblad Expeditions Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship: through the collaboration of these two organizations, I traveled to Svalbard, the land of the Ice Bears, where I gained an unexpected love for the Arctic region, and was humbled by just how much I did not know. This website is just a snapshot of things I experienced, although the enormity of what I learned and how it transformed me cannot be put into words.
