In this project we made a capstone. I decided to make an On Air capstone that can be turned on through wifi. I was going to make it battery powered, but after learning the limitations of the microcontroller, using, battery power would not be feasible and changed it to being corded. the codes current state allows it to work at CLS but makes it not work well at home as you would need to join. Once im done bringing it to school, I will upload the code that makes it work better with home. The wire connecting to the box is only to power it which allows it to work with any iphone charger
Description & Cost to build:
Inside the box is a usb c connector with breakouts to the + and GND, a 3.3v regulator with built in capacitors, A ESP01 microcontroller, and a strip of 3 neopixel lights and a 3d printed mount to keep the neopixels and acrylic aligned. The box is made of black acrylic and the visible sign is made of clear acrylic.
The total cost to build this would be probably around 3$ for the electronics, and another 4$ for all of the acrylic and acrylic glue, Totaling to around 7$.
