This assignment was to take a preset soccer ball scene and try to get the ball to be kicked as fast as possible
Changing Forces
By changing only the forces, the best we got was 12.9. This means that the only things we changed were the 4 forces and the turn on the parameters page. I found that the hamstring and the tibialis held back the force with a higher force, while the rectoral femoral and soleus were the drivers of the lower and upper leg, and required a specific high force to be optimal
Changing "Parameters"
These parameters included the position of the leg at the start of the kick, an additional slider for rotation, and position and speed of the ball at the start of the kick. we found that moving the leg and knee further away gave it more time to build up speed, which would kick the ball with higher force. We also found that if we speed up the ball in the negative direction, and positioned it a further from the skeleton, we could have the ball coming from one direction, the leg come from the other, and the kick would rebound with more force.
