As the first Black organization at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, we, the Black Student Union, are beyond grateful for the continued support of UNC Charlotte students and faculty.
We, the Black students of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, stand on the foundation laid by those who came before us and work to build a legacy for those who will follow. The Black Student Union was established to preserve our community's pride and dignity, foster awareness, and equip ourselves with the knowledge and strength to navigate the challenges of our time. Our purpose is to ensure that our cultural heritage is remembered, preserved, and maintained, to create awareness among ourselves as we confront the issues of today, and to establish our presence within this university and wherever our calling may lead us. Through this digital archive, we honor our rich history, ensuring that our stories, activism, and achievements continue to inspire. As we prepare to enter a world where our leadership and resilience are vital, this archive stands as a testament to our past, a resource for the present, and a guide for the future. We welcome you to a space where history lives, voices are amplified, and our legacy endures.
On this page, you will find our mission statement, history, leadership of the Black Student Union, an archive of events and programs, official documents, a multimedia gallery, information on how to get involved, and contact details.
At the heart of the UNC Charlotte Black Student Union is a commitment to building a strong community and family that uplifts, supports, and empowers every member. We believe that true strength comes from unity, and we need your participation to continue fostering a space where Black students can thrive. Together, we can make this family even greater.
We are dedicated to striving for excellence, not just within our organization but in every aspect of life, including academics, leadership, and personal growth. Through mentorship, collaboration, and perseverance, we push ourselves and each other to be the best we can be. Our success is not just individual; it is collective, and we rise together.
Unity is at the core of everything we do. By strengthening the bonds among Black students at UNC Charlotte, we create a powerful coalition that extends beyond campus. Through collaboration, advocacy, and shared experiences, we stand as one, ensuring that our voices are heard, our history is honored, and our future is bright.
