Despite discomfort and at times controversy around discussing diversity and the various identities that people possess, for many of our clients, coping with specific challenges surrounding those identities often contributes to their substance use. This session will discuss how supervisors can help their supervisees more effectively move beyond shame and avoidance around challenges of identity and move towards acknowledgement and support of these challenges in a more holistic way.
