Announcements
All DE applications are processed manually by the Dual Enrollment Coordinator and Dual Enrollment Administrative Assistant. TTC currently does not have an automated system for processing and admitting. Therefore, this process does take time and we do ask that students be patient.
Students will need to check the email addresses used to submit their applications, as this will be how notifications from TTC regarding application status will be sent.
Students cannot register themselves for courses. The DUAL HOLD that is on all student accounts prohibits them from doing so. Students taking courses outside of their individual schools MUST submit the DUAL ENROLLMENT ADD/DROP REQUEST FORM. We ask that both student and parents refrain from sending individual emails requesting courses. Parents cannot submit the registration form for their student, as the form is directly connected to the student’s accounts.
Course registrations (also completed manually by the authorized DE personnel) cannot take place until after the application has been processed and the student has been admitted. Failure to submit a completed application (all questions answered correctly and completely) with the required documentation uploaded will prolong this process and students may not be able to be registered for the requested course(s).
Once a student has been registered, a confirmation will be sent to the email address used to submit the application, as well as to their school counselor. Notes, explanations, further instructions, etc., will be included in the confirmation. It is very important that all persons who receive the confirmation review and advise of any changes.

They are quarter-long, approximately seven weeks long.
Due to Trident courses being quarter-long classes, TWO Trident Dual Enrollment classes would fill ONE Semester-Long block.
No. Your Trident grades will only show in your Trident Portal. Your School Counselor and parents will not be able to see your grades or progress throughout, so it is critical to your success that you are paying attention to how you are doing and actively checking your own progress. School Counselors are emailed the final grades shortly after the course has ended.
Trident courses will show up on your transcript as soon as grades are stored, which is typically one week after the quarter ends.
Trident Dual Enrollment courses may or may not transfer to the colleges students are applying to. For the most part, they transfer to in-state public colleges, but it’s important that students do this research in advance and communicate directly with the colleges they are applying to so they can get that information straight from the source.
The student can begin their research by trying to find the colleges “Course Equivalency Chart” or “Course Equivalency Table” on the college’s website, as this will help them navigate determining what courses will transfer and HOW they will transfer. This can typically be found on or around the “Transfer Students” section of the college’s website. The student can also try googling this, for example - "Clemson Course Equivalency Chart." Be sure the information you are looking at is directly from the college (on their website). If they are having trouble or the information doesn’t seem clear, their best bet is to call the college and ask them what the best way to navigate transfer credits.
Sometimes courses transfer as elective courses and are not always transferred as a general education requirement. This can depend on what the college determines. Even when students are researching using the Course Equivalency Chart, it is not necessarily guaranteed. What happens most often is once you are accepted, the college will do a review of your transfer credits and that’s where they can determine how they will transfer your credits (as elective or as general education requirement).
For example, if you took DE ENG 101 and DE ENG 102, a college might accept that as their General Education English requirement, meaning you don’t have to take it in college. If it was only accepted as elective credits, you would have to take the college’s specific English class.
Dual Enrollment courses are factored into the GPA at a higher weighting than CP and Honors courses. Please review the SC 10 Point Grade Scale to see how many points will be factored into your GPA based on the grade you receive.
Taking Dual Enrollment courses MAY impact your college GPA. Each college differs in how they determine how transfer credits are added into the GPA. It is important that the student contacts the college they will be attending or colleges of interest in advance to inquire about how transfer credits will be calculated into their college GPA. If the college you are transferring those credits to includes those grades in your college GPA and you did poorly, you would be starting your college GPA out poorly.
Trident Dual Enrollment classes are used in the calculation of the GPA for the LIFE Scholarship.
For example, if you took a Trident class and received a "D," and then retook that same class and received an "A" the second time, BOTH grades are factored into your LIFE Scholarship GPA. This can impact your LIFE Scholarship renewal, so it is extremely important that you are positive Dual Enrollment courses are the right fit for you and that you do your absolute best in the course.
Yes. The cost can change each year. For the most accurate pricing, please check Trident's Tuition and Payment page on their website.
SC Lottery Tuition Assistance currently covers nearly half of the total cost of tuition for students who qualify. It does NOT cover textbooks. SCLTA is available to students who meet the following qualifications:
Must be enrolled in at least six college credit hours within the same semester.
Must have lived in SC for 12 consecutive months prior to enrollment (Residency status may be appealed by contacting the Division of School and Community Initiatives at dualenrollment@tridenttech.edu).
The amount of lottery-funded tuition assistance is set by the state prior to the beginning of each semester. Students are responsible for paying any portion of the tuition not covered by lottery assistance.
Students do not need to apply for lottery assistance while they are enrolled in high school.
If your Trident Dual Enrollment course started and you cannot get into your portal, don't see your class in your portal, or are having other issues, contact Trident immediately.
Reach out to your School Counselor IMMEDIATELY. They will provide you with the next steps you need to do and help you get the class rescheduled. Please be aware, if you fail or are dropped for non-attendance from a Quarter 4 Trident class, there is no "back up" of placing that class in the next quarter through Trident. This could impact your high school graduation.

For courses that are not a Dual Enrollment option, your Counselor must get them approved by the district. In order for it to count as high school credit and go on your high school transcript, it must be approved by the district, so it is important you begin this process by talking with your Counselor first.
How Do I Register for Classes?
Qualified students may enroll in courses that are offered at any of the five TTC campuses or two TTC sites, at their participating high school, or through TTC’s Online College. With the permission of the high school or governing home school association, these courses may be taken before, during or after school, or during the summer.
§ Registration for students taking courses on the high school campus will be handled by the student’s high school.
§ Registration for students taking courses online or at a TTC campus or site must be requested by the student, following the steps below.
§ STEP 1: View available course options through the Course Search webpage for each semester.
§ STEP 2: Students can submit an online Dual Enrollment Add/Drop Request form to request registration for classes for their desired term/semester. This form is connected to the student’s my.tridenttech.edu portal account – only the student can complete and submit this form.
§ Students will receive notification via the my.tridenttech.edu student portal email once registration has been approved and processed.
If you are taking Trident courses directly through Trident all online, then you are following Trident’s calendar, NOT Wando’s Dual Enrollment calendar. These dates will be different so be aware of this and look on Trident’s website or our Dual Enrollment page for those dates.
According to the South Carolina Uniform Grading Policy (SC UGP), students have the first THREE days of a 45-day (Quarter) course to drop a class without penalty.
