From Action Reaction Teacher Leader: Ms. McCaskill
Action Reaction is designed to teach students how forces control motion and energy by turning abstract ideas into hands-on experiments.
Some of our favorite activities were building egg-crash cars, creating miniature golf courses, and engineering marble mazes that were challenging yet rewarding.
Through these activities, key principles we learned are inertia is when an object stays in motion unless acted upon by a force.
force = mass x acceleration; and for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Through working with your children, I learned that kids are naturally gifted engineers. They were eager to create, test, fail, and recreate. This made challenging concepts both fun and easy to grasp.
