Tell me more about the classes.
The classes focus on helping you communicate with people in the community. You will practice reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills you need for everyday situations. For example, you will learn how to send an email in English, how to talk to a mechanic about your car, and how to speak to your doctor.
How much do the classes cost?
The classes are free, but we ask students to commit to attending class or completing online assignments for a total of 60 hours. If a student misses three classes without contacting the teacher, the teacher can remove the student from the class.
Can I still take a class if I missed registration?
Please contact Justine Autry at ashley_autry@charleston.k12.sc.us to find out if there are available places in a class. You can also complete the interest form and follow us on facebook to find out when registration starts again.
Do I need a computer to take a class?
No. If you are enrolled in the online class; however, you need a phone, computer or ipad.
