Happy National School Counseling Week to our Buist Counseling Department. We appreciate all of the hard work and support that Ms. Haigler and Ms. Elliott provide to students and families at Buist Academy.
Mathcounts ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathcounts ) is the nation's premier middle-school math competition. This year Buist will participate in a first-time, experimental way.
The Chapter competition will take place at 9 am on February 28, 2025, Friday at The Citadel. If enough students are interested, Buist will send a team of four students (8th or 7th graders) to compete.
There will be a $20 registration fee for each of the four students who are selected for the Buist team.
Interested 7th and 8th-grade students are encouraged to participate. Practice and training will be provided. Parents are asked to provide a certain
level of support.

Dear families,
We’re going to San Juan, Ponce, La Parguera, Camuy in Summer 2026, and you’re invited!
We’re excited to tell you more about the trip we’re planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. Please be sure to register for this info session to be considered for this opportunity: https://rsvp.efexploreamerica.com/fzbkdja
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. In this info session, we’ll talk about:
How this opportunity will benefit your student
What we’ll see and do on our trip
Everything that’s included in this experience
How we’re keeping this safe and affordable
How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period
There are limited spots on this trip, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
Thanks,
Carolina Araya Vargas
