We can't wait to have our favorite reader, Superintendent Huggins, kick off our Read Across America Week festivities this year. Watch the kick-off event LIVE at 9:30 AM on Monday, March 2nd, 2026. Recording
*NEW for 2026* Read & Seek with Superintendent Huggins is inspired by the childhood classic series Flat Stanley. However, instead of traveling around the country, our Superintendent will travel around your school or library. Each school will receive a caricature drawing of Superintendent Huggins. Schools can laminate the image, cut it out, and pick the perfect hiding spots or share the blank coloring sheet. The ideas are endless!
All CCSD students & staff can join the virtual author visits happening all week!
Registration is simple! Just click on the link to choose the program for your class to join the virtual visit. Teachers will automatically be sent a Zoom link.
Additional information can be found on the Virtual Author Visits and Read Alouds page.
CCSD readers can participate in our Read Across America challenge in Beanstack. Read and complete activities to earn badges and prizes! We will be doing daily drawings for prizes for both students and staff! All students and staff will be automatically registered for the challenge on March 1.
