CompTia support documents share this warning with teachers: After configuration, we strongly recommend building completely fresh course shells in your LMS using the new tool. Numerous technical issues can arise from trying to rebuild in an existing course or even a copy of one. 

As applicable, the LTI Advantage tool will not interrupt your current TestOut EduApp courses, though going forward and after installing the LTI Advantage tool, and at a time that works for you, you will need to remove all current assignment links and recreate them using the new LTI Advantage tool. You cannot have TestOut EduApp assignment links and LTI Advantage links within the same Canvas course. The best practice is to use the LTI Advantage integration within a new Canvas course and to remove the old LTI from Canvas. 

To avoid confusion using the correct LTI, CCSD will remove the old version from Canvas on: July 31, 2025.

This article discusses migrating courses from LTI 1.1 to LTI 1.3, or in this case, from TestOut EduApp to LTI Advantage, and the removal of the old LTI to avoid instructor confusion.
