In these times of the COVID-19 Pandemic, information is changing by the hour.
In California, Governor Newsom has issued an executive order to "stay-at-home," forcing non-essential workers to work from home; and if unable to work, many face complete loss of income.
As of 1pm PST, bipartisan politics are stalling efforts to get financial relief to the citizens who need it the most.
There has been some relief from evictions & foreclosures, protecting internet service shutoffs, and student loan relief, but with all of this uncertainty, how can we effectively prepare financially?
Why did I make this?
I started making the Emergency Budget Add-on for The Ultimate Budget in 2018 to account for emergencies like auto accident repairs, housing maintenance, or unexpected healthcare costs. This, along with dozens of add-ons, remained in development, until this pandemic compelled me to create a tool for my friends & family to use.
What does this budget do that other budgets don't do?
This budget spreadsheet takes into account proposed "recovery rebates", possible loan forbearances, monthly budget category reductions and increases for a temporary period of time.
