Fall 2025 out now!
Utah, the state that completely banned abortion on June 24, 2022 when Roe v. Wade was overturned, announced this year that they have made abortion legal. There are caveats to this change in law however. People in the state are only being given access to abortion if they are no further than 18 weeks and 0 days pregnant. Minors in Utah are also being given access to abortions with the permission of at least one of their parents or guardians.
There is a 72 hour waiting period in which the pregnant person must wait between the time of their in-person consultation and the time of their procedure with a few exceptions being able to waive the waiting period. The only 3 exceptions to being granted access to an abortion after 18 weeks of pregnancy are as follows “To save the pregnant person's life, to preserve the pregnant person's physical health, if the fetus is not expected to survive the pregnancy” as stated by Utah Laws. 🐾
