According to a September 2021 study, there are around 30,000 to 40,000 annual deaths in America due to gun violence. Many people don’t realize who is able to access their firearms for reasons that could harm themselves or others. People buy guns that are typically used for the military. While some people want Gun Control to be more strict, others feel that it’s very unnecessary to have gun control. Many would take comfort in gun control becoming more severe in America.
The 2nd amendment states that people should be allowed to have a firearm in their house, and carry it with them without getting punished. People feel like without a gun with them they would be endangered. But by carrying a firearm, they are bringing that danger onto themselves.
If you have one at home and if you have kids, most likely some of them would find a gun and perhaps want to play with it. Knowing that they don’t understand how a gun works, they could accidentally injure or even kill themselves or their parents and siblings. Some parents don’t know the danger of having guns when kids are present. If something were to happen to their parents, they might try to use a gun to defend themselves. .
Many people would say they own a gun for safety. But does it really make a person more safe? The US government gives its citizens a lot of power when it comes to firearms, and for many people (mainly those without firearm experience), that is very unsafe. Each of these examples express why gun control in America is vital. 🐾
