The Chainsaw Massacre Movie: Review

Melissa Perez and I (Stephanie De La Cueva) both watched the new Chainsaw Massacre movie together and Melissa rated it a 6/10 and Stephanie rated it a 7/10.  We rated it this because the movie was really gruesome and we feel like it just repeated a lot when it came to the killing. However, there wasn’t as much tension as there was in the first movie and it felt like it went by very fast. As well as this, they didn’t really introduce the characters well and it kinda went straight to the killing. It also wasn’t realistic because Leatherface kept surviving the attacks when the  victims attempted to kill him. 

Leatherface is the killer and he is really old and strong.  He made his first appearance in 1974 in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It was estimated that he killed 31 people. He cuts people's faces and puts them on and he also makes furniture out of peoples flesh. He has an obsession with killing.  He loves his mother and he went absolutely crazy feral over her when she lost her house. He’s considered a “Big Baby.”

Anne Sawyer, the mother of Leatherface owned an orphanage which is basically her house. These buyers of the whole town came and told her that she shouldn’t be there anymore. She and the Buyers got into a disagreement which led to her having a heart attack. The buyers called the police and her son came down and he carried her behind the cop car and sat with her. He tried saving her with a breathing tube, but unfortunately she didn’t make it.  Her son (Leatherface) carved her face off and he put it on his face.  

Sally was the first survivor in the first movie. She was living her life trying to kill him and when she got the news that he was back. She drove into town and packed her shotgun. All she wanted was to get revenge for her friends. Once she got there the town was full of blood and there were only two survivors. They begged her to drive but all she could think about was her friends and how he killed them all. She got shot. The survivors thought she was gone. But she tried to save the survivors by shooting him one more time and she got killed but she died thinking she defeated him.🐾
