Jaime “Jimmy” Lozano was re-elected as coach for Mexico’s men’s national soccer team.
After he led Mexico to win the 9th CONCACAF gold cup, he was re-elected as coach of the Mexico team after Diego Cocca was fired in June. With Diego Cocca, the team lost 3-0 against the USA.t was considered one of the worst showings of the Mexico team.
Jimmy Lozano also coached in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, where Mexico won Bronze. When Jaime Lozano became the coach of the Mexico soccer team, he led the team to victory at the final of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. This took place at the Sofi Stadium in Inglewood, California, with a score of 1-0 against Panama. Many believed in him and thought that him being the coach meant better changes to the team.
Lozano has received the nickname “LamborJimmy”. He symbolizes a refresh of Mexican soccer. Lozano is the chosen coach to direct Mexico for the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in Mexico, the US and Canada.
In preparation for the game, the Mexico team played this Sunday against Australia in a friendly match at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The final score of the game was 2-2, Mexico’s goals came from penalties by Raul Jimenez and Cesar Huerta and Australia’s goals were made by Harry Souttar and Martin Boyle. Santi Gimenez for Mexico missed a penalty, which would’ve made the scoreboard 3-2.
