It's no secret that candy is an important aspect of Halloween. Young children and adults both love this spooky season. But how do people like their candy? Some people love certain types of candy over others, and some prefer less expensive candy, while others go to town on full sized chocolate bars.
Variety of Favorites Between Age Ranges
All ages can enjoy candy, but some people prefer another type of candy relative to their age. For example kids are more likely to favor sugary treats like sour patch kids and m&ms. On the other hand, people on the farther end of the age spectrum would rather eat something with less sugar.
Chocolate vs Gummy/chewy Candy
Many people debate over which is better: chocolate or gummies. One person said that he prefers chocolate candy because it tastes better. He also said that it was a more preferable option unless you want to lose your teeth. Most people I talked to said that they vastly preferred chocolate, and they said that chocolate is better because people like the taste of chocolate way more than the taste of gummies, especially because you can add things to chocolate like caramel or peanut butter.
Favorite Candies to Give Out
A popular tradition on Halloween is to give away candy to trick or treaters. With that comes a decision; should you go cheap and buy the least expensive candy, or go all in on the expensive stuff?
Here are some prices of popular candies per pound.
Milky Way: $9.50
Snickers: $8.49
Twix: $6.98
Sour Patch Kids: $5.00
Candy Corn: $4.00
As you can see with this list, the most expensive contenders are chocolate-based.
This is why when you’re trick or treating most of the candy in your bag is either candy corn or Sour Patch Kids, because they are so incredibly cheap compared to Milky Way and Snickers.
No matter what candy you get, it's Halloween, enjoy it! 🐾
