Ruby Gloom: An Under the Radar Hit

Ruby Gloom was one of my absolute favorite shows as a child and still is to this day.  I’m writing this article while watching it in the background with my mom.

Ruby Gloom is a Canadian animated kids show that aired from 2006 to 2008.  The characters include Ruby (Sarah Gadon), Skull Boy (Scott McCord), Frank and Len (David Verni and Jeremy Harris), Misery (Emily Hampshire), Iris (Stacey DePass), Scaredy Bat (Peter Keleghan), and Poe (Adrian Truss).

The show was canceled after three amazing seasons.  However, with the show's intense fan base, fans created a petition to get the show renewed for another season, however, it wasn’t successful.

Some of the most iconic elements of this show would be the intro song as well as DoomKitty.  DoomKitty is Ruby Gloom's cat who only speaks through violin sounds but is able to carry out her sassy attitude.

This show’s adorable art and writing style and very catchy theme song with silent DoomKitty makes for an adorable show. 🐾

Characters
