Welcome to Chaminade University of Honolulu. Course Development, Management, and Technology Needs

Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL)

The CTL is located in Hale Hoaloha 201 and is open to all full-time and adjunct faculty. We hope you will join the CTL for future professional development events, and we hope you will utilize the CTL as a space to meet with other faculty to collaborate, or even to just grab a coffee and some snacks. The CTL has comfortable chairs and couches, worktables for small group discussion, portable white boards, shelves where you can store class materials, and large screen monitors you can use for Zoom meetings. 

The CTL is not just a place for professional development and meetings, but it is also a place that has staff that can assist you with instructional design for your course, student engagement, course and program level assessment, and technology integration. Feel free to reach out to one of our CTL staff members with your questions or ideas.

Meet with our Instructional Designer

Dr. Scott Wylie can meet with you individually over Zoom to talk about your Canvas course design and ways to engage your students. The best way to schedule time with Scott is by making an appointment through his YouCanBookMe page.

Meet with our Educational Technologist

Tiffany Akiyama can meet with you individually on Zoom or face-to-face to discuss technology tools that could be implemented into your course design. Email Tiffany at tiffany.akiyama@chaminade.edu to schedule a consultation.

Chat with the Director

Jim Heller Sutton is available to meet with you on Zoom or face-to-face to discuss the programming and services of the CTL, to consult with you regarding your own teaching practice, and to otherwise answer your questions regarding the Center for Teaching & Learning.
