We know that having a baby can be exciting but also challenging and overwhelming. Whether this baby is your first and you’re figuring it all out, or this baby is being welcomed into a larger family and you are working to find the right balance, having caring and reliable support is essential. We would like to be a small part of that support system.
Nourish offers education, support and referrals from pregnancy through the first 12 months after the baby is born. During each visit, a registered nurse who is also a certified lactation consultant will visit you at home.
As your baby grows and your family changes, your nurse home visitor will be available by phone during business hours to answer your questions and assist you in finding the resources your family may need to achieve a healthy start.
Prenatal -- Week 1 -- Week 2 -- 1 Month -- 2 Months -- 4 Months -- 6 Months -- 9 Months -- 12 Months
We want to visit with you before you have your baby so we can help you have the healthiest pregnancy and delivery possible. We will schedule an appointment to meet with you anytime during your pregnancy, although we feel it is best to meet around your 8th month. We cover a lot of information during this first visit and will ask a lot of questions so we can get to know you.
We can assist you in:
· Making healthy food choices
· Learning to breastfeed
· Providing a health insurance referral for mom and baby as needed
· Installing your car seat correctly
· Supporting positive lifestyle choices and behavior changes to help your baby (smoking cessation)
A nurse will schedule an appointment to meet with you as soon as possible when you arrive home after the birth of your baby. She will ensure that breastfeeding is going well and assist in finding solutions to any problems you may be experiencing.
Your nurse home visitor will give you support and resources to make the transition back to work a little easier. She will complete an assessment for pregnancy related depression and support you through the referral process if needed.
She will follow you and your infant through 12 months after birth, continuing to provide support and education.
