School History

This school was the educational institution required for the three villages within the jurisdiction of Sih-Bu Liucuo Police Station of Sigang District---Liucuo Vil, Zhulin Vil, and Yongle Vil. Because Sigang Elementary School was far away, we took into account the fact that the students who went to school were tired of traveling to and fro due to the long distance. Therefore, since the Japanese occupation period, there had been several preparations for the establishment of the school. However, it had not been realized due to the local poverty and limited financial resources.

Not until the restoration of Taiwan, local enthusiastic educators tried their best to raise funds and called for the establishment. Finally, during July and August of the 36th year of the Republic Era, they gathered the power of everyone to provide the land for Township to establish the school.

As the old saying said: If you want to educate people and form a good custom, you must have them learn! Since then, the establishment of Chenggong Elementary School has created an educational environment for the children of the three villages, and also built up the foundation for local humanities, customs and education.

School Features

1. Committed to the promotion of butterfly ecological conservation:

The school has a butterfly museum and a butterfly ecological conservation garden, which are not only the best teaching resources for teachers and students at school during weekdays, but also a good place for the community and people from all walks of life to enjoy themselves there during holidays. The currently conserved butterflies are: Common Rose, Great Mormon, Blue Triangle, Common Mormon, Lime Butterfly, Common Grass Yellow, Eurema Andersoni Godana, Plain Tiger, Large Tree Nymph, Blue Tiger, Junonia Almana, Common Fivering, Chilades Peripatria, Telicota Ohara Formosana and so on.

2. Beautiful school environment:

The tall school arch leads everyone to the path of success; the green Spring Breeze Garden and Rain Garden are on both sides of the school gate, presenting a beautiful scene, as if it is welcoming every guest; The layout of the middle corridor of the school has deeply caught everyone's eye; the ㄩ-shaped school building is surrounded by lush banyan trees, with a large green carpet-like playground in the middle; The school planning is perfect and coordinated, with its integrity, color matching, and the smooth lines. The school also preserves its original natural features, and it is no wonder that there are a lot of groups visiting the school, including the staff of Bureau of Education of various counties and cities.

Computers, audio-visual media, and teaching aids are readily available; and there are viewboards, computers and amplifiers for each class, providing more diversified, modern, and lively teaching, improving teachers' teaching quality and students' interest in learning.
