INSTRUCTIONS TO GRADUATES: CLASS OF 2026
Where: Blossom Music Center
When: Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. *
Blossom Music Center has been most gracious in the manner in which they have provided for our needs. Please show the proper respect for the facility during our brief visit. Please stay in the areas provided for us. GRADUATES AND GUESTS WILL NOT BE USING THE LAWN. No tickets are required to attend the ceremony.
You are to arrive by 6:00 PM this evening and report directly to your line area for the taking of attendance. Please leave home early enough to provide for traffic problems. Please remember to drive slowly and safely when entering. It may be tempting to visit with family members, but you must remain in your line area. Graduates should park in paved lot B, C, or D on the LEFT tonight.
Disruptive students will not participate in commencement. The school conduct code is in effect as at any school event. Students are not permitted to smoke and any student using or possessing drugs and/or alcohol will not participate in Commencement. Shouting and cheering are not acceptable. Noisemakers, horns, silly string or any object not in keeping with the dignity of Commencement will be confiscated.
Formal attire is appropriate for Commencement. This may include dresses, suits, skirts and blouses, sport coats, shirts and ties, trousers, dress shoes and socks, and flats or heels. Tennis shoes, flip flops, shorts, hiking/combat boots, sandals and jeans are not acceptable. The gown should be worn over clothing and pins may be needed to anchor the hat. Caps and gowns are not to be marked on or decorated in any way. If there are any questions or concerns about appropriate attire or behavior, direct them to the office.
PROCESSIONAL
During the Processional everyone is to REMAIN STANDING when they arrive at their seat. When the music stops, all graduates should then be seated.
PRESENTATION OF DIPLOMAS
THE USHERS will give a signal and the first row of graduates will rise and proceed to the ramp at the right of the stage. Then, at a given signal, each row will in turn proceed to the ramp at the side of the stage. Graduates should move on to the stage at the top of the ramp after the graduate ahead of you is named. Places will be marked with tape as to where you receive your diploma
After the diploma is awarded, graduates will exit by the LEFT SIDE STAGE ramp and return to their seats. Walk immediately to your seat and SIT DOWN. Standing and waiting for friends IS NOT DIGNIFIED, and sitting immediately presents an orderly process. WALK CAREFULLY DOWN THE RAMP.
After all diplomas are awarded, the Class President will make a few remarks. At their direction, the entire class WILL STAND and change the TASSEL from the RIGHT to the LEFT side of the hat - an act signifying graduation. ALL REMAIN STANDING.
RECESSIONAL
When the music begins, those on stage will exit. There is no formal recessional. The expectation is to move IMMEDIATELY to the back of the Stage and pick up your diploma.
STUDENTS WHO DO NOT DRESS FORMALLY WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM THE CEREMONY AT THE DISCRETION OF THE ADMINISTRATION
*Date is subject to change depending on the finalized availability of the Blossom Music Center venue
