It is the general policy of the Cape Flattery School Board to operate the school during periods of light or moderate snow conditions. Teachers and pupils/parents should presume that the school would operate unless otherwise notified. In some cases, school buses will only travel on snow routes. For closure or late-start information, call the school main office at 963-2324 and press 0.
In the event we experience inclement weather conditions the following procedures will be enacted:
1) If the power goes out during the night and is not restored by 5:30AM, we will have a two-hour delayed start.
2) If the power will not be restored by 10:00AM, school will be canceled for that day.
3) During inclement weather Sappho bus run, Hoko bus run and / or Neah Bay bus run may be cancelled.
C. On a late start day (10:00AM):
No Breakfast will be served. The cafeteria kitchen will be closed until lunch time.
Morning recess will be canceled for the elementary grades.
Middle school and high school will begin with 3rd period.
School buses will run approximately two hours later on late start days. These times are approximate, of course, depending on the severity of the weather.
D. CANCELLED- No school – no routes, no pickups, no after school programs.
The district is committed to a safe and civil educational environment for all students, employees, parents/legal guardians, volunteers and patrons that is free from harassment, intimidation or bullying. Early release due to weather may result in limited bus runs also all students may be sent home together meaning, both elementary and high school on same bus. Will also result in cancellation of all after school programs.
MILD- two hour late start. All buses will run the normal routes, but pickup times will be two hours later than your normal pick up times. (Please Note) There may be weather conditions that require the buses not to run in certain areas we will notify as needed.
EXTREME- two hour late start. Snow route No Sappho run, No Neah Bay or Bullman Beach run, and No Hoko run, Two buses only- one will run out from school heading west. All pick up time will be approximately two hours Later than your normal pick up times. Bus will travel to Rays, Vista, Airport, and Sekiu., Arrive at school approx. 9:35 am Second bus will head east to Mod smith hill, turn around pick up from mile marker 20 to Clallam Bay including Charlie Creek road and Slip Point. Arrive at school approx. 9:30
CANCELLED- No School- no routes, no pickups.
