Course Emporium is designed for students to earn credit for courses offered at CFHS. This is not an optional course. Attendance is mandatory. These courses engage students with robust content delivered through interactive, media-rich instruction, and experienced certified teachers.
Course Emporium allows students to meet the demands of the common core and state standards while allowing them to work at their own pace on areas that need improvement.
Required
Strongly Recommended
Course Emporium provides an opportunity for all students enrolled to work on coursework necessary for graduation. As such, students are expected to adhere to classroom rules and procedures to help create a productive learning environment:
Students who do not adhere to classroom expectations will be subject to disciplinary action.
Cheating on examinations, tests, quizzes, pre-tests, etc. is forbidden. A non-exhaustive list of prohibited student behavior is as follows:
Links/tools provided to the students during an assessment by Edgenuity, such as a graphing calculator and period table, are allowed to be open during assessments.
During an assessment, students are not permitted to have other browser windows/tabs open. Students in violation of this policy may be considered to be cheating and will be subject to the consequences listed below.
Phones are NOT permitted while students are working on Edgenuity. If you take out your phone while working on Edgenuity, you will be asked to place it into the cell phone pocket, located at the front of the class. If it becomes a daily occurrence, we will first contact your parents. After that we will have to get administration involved.
Students have the ability to log in to Edgenuity from home the same way they do in class. Go to https://learn.edgenuity.com and login using your Edgenuity username and password. While at home, students will NOT be able to take assessments (i.e. quizzes, tests, and pretests); however, students can complete other activities.
There are two available settings when working at home.
Option 1: Stop at Assessment (default)
Students can work on a lesson at home, but when they reach an assessment, further activities will be locked out until they take the assessment in class.
Option 2: Skip over Assessments (by request)
Students can work on a lesson at home and upon reaching an assessment, they will skip over the assessment and can work on the next lesson. Upon returning to class, the student will take any skipped assessments.
If students think this option will be better, they need to discuss this with their classroom teacher.
Please be aware that the way grades for this course are being reported is changing. In the past, it has been a Pass/Fail course. We now offer letter grades for the courses students complete within Course Emporium.
Please read the following statement carefully, and then email your teacher if you have any questions or need clarification! Thank you!
Students enrolled in Course Emporium may earn the letter grade relative to their final Overall Grade percentage, as reported in Edgenuity, for the course they are completing within that program.
For students to qualify for an A or B as a final grade for the course, they are permitted a maximum of 2 attempts on Unit/Topic tests, and 1 attempt on their Cumulative Final Exam.
Students who have not reached a passing grade after course completion may be permitted additional retakes (by arrangement with teacher) of Unit/Topic Tests and/or the Cumulative Final Exam until they reach a passing Overall Grade (65% or higher).
In such cases, a final letter grade of “D” will be transcripted for the course regardless of the final percentage earned.
We hope this site helps acquaint you with Course Emporium, but if you have any unanswered questions, please email the instructors for help. Thanks!
