Auditions for The Play That Goes Wrong (High School Edition) will be hosted on August 24th and 25th from 3:30pm to 5:30pm in the Green Room. Callbacks will take place on August 26th, 2026. Sign ups will be posted on Monday, August 17th on the call board outside the Green Room.
Please note that this show will be double cast. Each cast will perform for one weekend (three performances total).

"From Mischief, Broadway masters of comedy, comes this smash-hit farce. Welcome to opening night of the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show: an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Nevertheless, the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences! Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award-winning comedy is a global phenomenon that’s guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter!
The Play That Goes Wrong is a farcical, murder mystery, play-within-a-play, conceived and originally performed by award-winning company Mischief.
After debuting at the Old Red Lion Theatre in Islington, London, The Play That Goes Wrong premiered in the West End at the Duchess Theatre on September 14, 2014. It then premiered on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre on April 2, 2017" (Concord).

A filled out resume/application form (available on the call board when you sign up for an audition time).
A prompt arrival to your audition time slot (prompt means arriving 5-10 minutes early for check-in).
A willingness to learn and perform to the best of your ability!

A 16-32 measure cut of an audition song of your choice.
Must include piano accompaniment. An accompanist will be provided.
A dance audition (the dance audition will be taught to you in a group setting, where you will perform the number with the group. This will also be a component of callbacks).

Advanced Theatre Auditions*
Advanced Theatre Auditions*
Two 1-2 minute contrasting monologues from a play, musical, or theatrical work (this means no movies, books, or television shows).
A video submission of the two monologues.
Google Form about your goals in theatre, why you are auditioning, etc.
A consistent and dedicated work ethic in the student's current theatre class.
A passing grade in previous theatre classes.
After the audition: Mrs. Byroad's signature on your course request form.
A willingness to learn and perform to the best of your ability!
*This only applies to students currently enrolled in Intermediate Theatre Arts or Advanced Theatre Arts. Auditions for the Advanced Class of 2028-29 will be accepted toward the end of second semester.
