Attending a technology conference has multiple benefits. It can help the teacher with new skills, understanding, and perspectives, grade level/department teams can learn from each other, and at the district level as we collectively gain more expertise and capacity. As we encourage teachers and administrators to attend and present at different technology conferences, the feedback and information will be used for future support and conference evaluation.
Attendees are expected to share what they have learned within their PLC, building, and/or district opportunities. so others can take advantage of the information gained. Once they have returned, a reflective post will be promoted and shared within the district so others have the opportunity to benefit from what they have found. Attendees will also be asked to rate the conference. Over time, conferences with higher satisfaction will get a priority over conferences that have poor recommendations.
After you submit your request for the conference using the request form link, your building principal will be notified for approval. Upon approval, you will go into the pool of potential attendees to be selected at random for the conference. Once all applicants are reviewed, you and your principal will be notified if you were selected.
Attendance at any given conference is only one of the parts in helping our district continue to grow and become better. With this systematic approach to attendance, gathering of information, sharing, and reflecting, many more of our colleagues will be impacted from the experiences that you will have and share. Educators chosen to attend the conference are also going to
