Eligibility:

• Award season begins in March and concludes with the awards banquet

• Top seven on varsity are eligible

• Awarded to one varsity player after each season

• Must fulfill all of the criteria on the checklist to be included on the ballot

• Participated in or attended every varsity meet

• Voted by coaches’ ballot

Criteria:

• Participated in or attended every varsity meet

• Wins more than half of his matches at his ladder position

• Has at least one exemplary instance of winning a match in a tough situation, including but not limited to:

  • Big comeback win, when down in his match

  • Winning a long match involving multiple tiebreakers/extended supertiebreaker

  • Winning the deciding match in a close meet (when others have left the court)

  • Winning a match where he was hooked repeatedly

  • Winning a match during adverse weather/with an adverse crowd

OR

• Is dominant - winning easily - at his position on the team all season
