Q: How can I join the Learning Pods as a student?
A: By Signing Up Here, on the digital form, or visiting our office at the McKenna Center and asking for the Learning Pods Program Coordinator.
Q: Does the Learning Pods have staff that are bilingual?
A: Yes. As of right now, we have mentors who speak English and Spanish. We are constantly looking for new mentors that speak other languages such as Portuguese, Creole, Mandarin, French, Chinese, etc.
Q: Where is the Learning Pods main office located?
A: We are located at: 115 Illinois St, Central Falls, RI 02863.
Q: Does the Learning Pods provide some of the essentials you would need in school and life?
A: Yes. We can provide students with essentials for school like binders, folders, pencils, while in stock. As for life, we equip students with the skills to communicate, advocate for themselves, and be independent learners.
Q: Does the Learning Pods provide transportation for meetings?
A: Unfortunately, we do not provide transportation to and from meetings. Only displaced students are provided transportation to and from meetings with their mentors. Mentors are not allowed or expected to provide students transportation. It is imperative that parents are aware of the student's meeting hours.
Q: Does the Learning Pods provide food during their meetings with students?
A: Unfortunately, we do not provide food during 1:1 or group meetings. Students are provided food during large program gatherings such as snacks during movie nights or game nights, field trips, meet the mentors, etc.
