USACE and Core Friends of Rend Lake Sign Cooperative Agreement

One of the first major milestones for Core Friends of Rend Lake (CFORL) became official when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and CFORL signed a Cooperative Agreement establishing a formal partnership dedicated to supporting Rend Lake and its visitors.

The agreement allows CFORL to work alongside USACE to enhance outdoor recreation, environmental stewardship, visitor services, and educational opportunities throughout Rend Lake.

This partnership creates new opportunities for the community to become directly involved in improving and protecting Rend Lake for future generations. Working together, CFORL and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will expand educational programming, strengthen volunteer efforts, and help ensure visitors continue to enjoy one of Southern Illinois' greatest outdoor destinations.

We are honored to serve as the official nonprofit partner of Rend Lake and look forward to growing this partnership with our members, volunteers, local businesses, and community supporters.
