Troubadours is the beginning tenor/bass singing group at CFHS. This group focuses on finding and developing your voice, learning to hear and read music, and establishing camaraderie. CFHS young men in all grades are welcome to sing with this group, freshmen vocal musicians start here.
Cantelina is the beginning soprano/alto choir at CFHS. This group focuses on the building blocks of singing and finding your voice, reading and hearing music, and having fun in choir. CFHS young women in all grades are welcome to sing with this group, freshmen vocal musicians start here.
This ensemble is for sophomores and up who sing soprano or alto. This group is for students who would like to take their singing to the next level and enjoy the camaraderie of this specialized group. We will focus on 3 and 4 part music and improving music-reading and vocal skills. No audition required.
Columbia Chorale is our premiere Choral ensemble at CFHS. This group travels, studies a grand array of choral repertoire and ideas, and performs for our school-wide events. Admission is by audition with the instructor. This group is open to grades 10-12 by audition with preferred experience in a beginning choir.
Sonifers vocal ensemble at CFHS focuses primarily on Vocal Jazz and Acapella, solo singing, and exuding overall confidence. Students who participate in Sonifers are also members of Columbia Chorale. Sonifers are a staple of Cfalls, they sing for many extra-curricular events locally. Membership of this group is of the highest honor at CFHS and in the Columbia Falls Community. Full-year commitment required.
Acoustic Guitar and Songwriting are also offered. Students must supply or borrow an acoustic guitar to play. Students will learn to be self-sufficient in tuning and repairing strings if necessary.
Semester 1 will be basic guitar skills, chords, and beginning tab reading.
Semester 2 is advanced guitar skills and songwriting. Join at semester 2 if you are experienced in guitar and would like to expand your songwriting skills. You will need to pass a brief screening so that instruction for the whole class can be focused on advanced skills and songwriting.
