Beginner Orchestra

Beginner Orchestra is where students start their musical journey—no experience needed! Each class focuses on a specific instrument, allowing students to learn proper technique and develop strong foundational skills. Throughout the year, students will learn to read music, play as a team, and perform in their first concerts while building confidence and a love for music.

Philharmonic Orchestra

7th and 8th Grade Students who have completed Beginner Orchestra.

The Philharmonic Orchestra is designed for students who have completed Beginner Orchestra and need additional time to strengthen their fundamental skills. This group focuses on reviewing key concepts such as note reading, posture, and tone production while refining basic ensemble playing. Students build confidence through guided practice and performance experiences that prepare them for the next level of orchestra.

Symphony Orchestra

7th and 8th Grade Students who have completed Beginner Orchestra.

The Symphony Orchestra is for students who have built a strong foundation and are ready to focus on more challenging music and advanced ensemble skills. This group emphasizes precision, musical expression, and collaboration, helping students refine their technique while performing a variety of repertoire. Symphony Orchestra provides opportunities for leadership within the ensemble and prepares students for a variety of performances. This orchestra also participates in the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation and the CFISD Solo and Ensemble Contest.

Chamber Orchestra

7th and 8th Grade Students who have completed Beginner Orchestra.

Chamber Orchestra is the top-level ensemble for musicians who are ready for advanced repertoire and challenging ensemble work. This group focuses on precision, musical expression, and leadership, with opportunities for solo and small-group performance. Chamber Orchestra students develop advanced techniques, strong listening skills, and a deep understanding of collaborative musicianship. They perform in the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation and the CFISD Solo and Ensemble Contest, and are eligible to audition for the Region 27 Orchestra.
