Here's a little Brainpop video about colds and the flu virus.   • Scholastic Literacy Pro – Books and reading galore! The student with the most minutes read in each homeroom will receive a book and a stress ball upon our return.
  • Imagine Math – Students with the most minutes upon our return get to participate in a Silly String War with Ms. Church
  • Prodigy – Fun game for math

Non-Screen Activities for Home

  • Find some old boxes, scrap fabric, scrap paper, etc. Create your best robot. If you want, take a photo of it to share with Ms. McGinness.
  • Set up a treasure hunt for your family. You can make the prize something that you wrote for them or a special picture you have drawn.
  • Create a comic book.
  • Use a deck of plain cards to practice your math facts by playing War and requiring that players either add or subtract the numbers before you can take the pile.
  • Write a letter to someone.
  • Put on a puppet show.
  • Have a dance contest OR have an air writing contest. See who can best write words in the air so that the people watching can figure out the word.
  • Make your own ABC book on a topic of your choice.
  • Activities from this website - https://jarrettlerner.com/activities/ - can be downloaded and printed or simply looked at and used from online. They are templates for comics and other fun drawing and writing activities.
  • Write three of the hardest math word problems you can think of. Make sure you can solve them yourself. Then challenge someone older than you to solve them as well.
  • Help out with some cooking at home. Do the measurements for the ingredients. Then sit down and figure out how to double the recipe for twice as many people!
