• Students may be referred at any time. Students whose referral is received by the last school day in November will be included in the mid-year testing process.

• Parents interested in having their children screened should contact the elementary campus Counselor for additional information.

• Students may test for the GT program only once a year. Testing will be administered ONLY if the student has not participated in screening testing during the current school year.

• Parents/guardians will be asked to complete a Parent Survey and Permission to Test form.

• Testing typically occurs in January and February during the spring semester.

• If the student qualifies for HORIZONS, parents/guardians will receive a notification letter of placement/qualification and will be asked to sign a Parent Permission for Services form.

• If the student does not qualify, he/she may not be referred again for testing until the midyear testing cycle of the following school year.
