Beginning Strings
Weekly Goal: Develop entry level skills on our instruments including set up and posture, rest and playing positions, and how to play some notes. Begin reading music.
Materials Needed: Schoology, instrument/bow, rosin, Basic Music Theory Book 1, Essential Elements Book 1, orchestra binder, computer access, and pencil
Music being learned: Essential Elements exercises, class music and printouts
Concert Orchestra
Weekly Goal: Improve and reinforce techniques and skills such as basic-intermediate note/rhythm reading and articulations, posture, finger placement, and tone production to develop fundamentals individually as well as prepare for performing in an orchestra.
Materials Needed: Schoology, instrument/bow, rosin, music, orchestra binder, computer access, and pencil
Music being learned: scale packets, solos on SmartMusic, class music and printouts
Philharmonic Orchestra
Weekly Goal: Improve and reinforce techniques and skills such as intermediate note/rhythm reading and articulations, shifting, vibrato, intonation, tone production, and phrasing to develop individual skills as well as prepare for performing in an orchestra with a strong, cohesive sound.

Symphony Orchestra
Weekly Goal: Improve techniques and skills such as intermediate-advanced note/rhythm reading and articulations, shifting, vibrato, intonation, tone production, and phrasing to develop a more advanced and blended ensemble sound.

Chamber Orchestra
Weekly Goal: Improve techniques and skills such as advanced note/rhythm reading and articulations, shifting, vibrato, intonation, tone production, and phrasing to develop a mature and sophisticated ensemble sound.
