This is my third year as a part of the Smith Middle School Orchestra family! Every year I meet so many great and wonderful individuals - students, parents, staff, community members, and more! I'm so excited for the next year of making music with you.
I moved to Houston from Indiana two summers ago. Indiana was home for me for many years, and it's where I went to high school and college! I attended Indiana University and studied Music Education there. While in Indiana I taught violin in Fairview Elementary School for three years, and I've taught music to a variety of ages (old and young) as well. Though I am quite a long way from home, I have felt very welcomed here and I am excited to continue building a new home here in CFISD!
My main instrument is violin, but you can find me playing viola, cello, or bass as well. I've been caught a couple times practicing piano, and I hope to learn more instruments like guitar or ukulele in the future!
Music is and has always been a huge part of my life. I hope that through teaching and studying music, we can better understand one another no matter what country or continent (or state!) that we come from. Music is an amazing way to connect with others near and far, and we're looking forward to creating music with you. Although orchestra may look a little different this year, we are confident that we can make the best of any situation.
