Try outs for the 2027-2028 season for 8th grade students will begin on Monday, March 8th 2027 in the performance gym at Cypress Ridge HS.
Mandatory events:
Interest Forms, Signature Forms, Rank One, and your physical are due on Feb. 24th, 2027.
Attend the mandatory parent meeting on March 2nd, 2027 at Cypress Ridge High School in the cafeteria.
Attend clinic on March 8th- 10th at Cypress Ridge High School in the performance gym.

Have a cleared physical on file with your school's athletic trainer by Feb. 24th, 2027. BRING A PAPER COPY TO THE PARENT MEETING!

Wear athletic clothing (no crop tops or spanks), tennis shoes, remove all jewelry, and pull your hair up and out of your face.

Tryouts will be held in the performance gym of Cypress Ridge HS starting at 4:15 pm for all 8th grade candidates.
Each candidate will be asked to exit the building upon completion of their physical tryout.

What to wear: Any colored plain shirt, athletic shorts (no spanks) and tennis shoes/cheer shoes. Candidates will need to have their hair must be pulled back and out of the candidate's face, no jewelry- this includes body piercings.
Tryouts are a closed event. That means that no parents, friends, etc. will be allowed in the athletic wing during any part of the clinic process.

Results will be posted Friday, March 12th, around 3:o0 pm on the home page of this website. Results will be posted using their tryout numbers and schools, not their names. Please communicate with your candidate and make sure to remember their numbers.
If your candidate makes the team, there will be an email sent to all guardians regarding a parent meeting and practice schedule for March and April.
