The Bethlehem Food Bank is open to Bethlehem residents facing food insecurity. Residents of other towns who meet USDA TEAFP Income Guidelines may receive TEFAP commodities.
The volunteers and members of Caring for Bethlehem respect the privacy of all served by the Bethlehem Food Bank and the Bethlehem Comfort Closet.

Please Note: The Beige Clothing Box in the parking lot at Church of the Nativity is NOT connected with the Prince of Peace Clothing Bank. All clothing left in that box is recycled by a textile recycling company.

The Food Bank provides a full range of food for families in the community facing food insecurity including fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh dairy and bakery products, frozen meats, and packaged, canned items, snacks for kids, food for pets, and personal care and household cleaning products. Delivery is available to Bethlehem seniors and residents for whom travel is not possible.
The Fuel Bank is an assistance program of Caring for Bethlehem that helps Bethlehem residents facing financial insecurity stay warm during the colder months. It is intended to supplement, not replace, the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) and the Generation Power CT energy programs.
The Assistance Fund provides basic funding assistance with minor car or home repairs, replacement appliances, diapers and incontinence supplies, employment-opportunity-related expenses, and other household necessities for Bethlehem residents facing financial insecurity to continue to live as part of the community. The Fund works in tandem with our other programs to fill in gaps.
Aging at Home helps Bethlehem seniors facing financial insecurity remain in their homes with dignity and confidence. The program provides funding assistance for basics such as light housekeeping, minor handyman projects, and walkway clearing services. Combined with the Bethlehem Food Bank Home Delivery program, and assistance with minor household expenses through the Bethlehem Assistance Fund, the program broadens the Caring for Bethlehem umbrella of support for Bethlehem residents.
Caring for Kids is a program of Caring for Bethlehem that provides funding assistance for basic needs of children under age 18 including infant and toddler clothing and equipment, footwear and clothing, opportunities to attend after-school activities and summer recreation camp, and for fees, supplies, and gear for arts and sports activities. The program is supported by the Pfahl Family Children’s Fund.
Caring for Bethlehem does not assist with rent, mortgages, taxes, medical expenses, home health care, or purchase of homes or vehicles.

Bethlehem residents who meet the financial guidelines established by the USDA for The Emergency Food Assistance Program are eligible to receive food at the Bethlehem Food Bank. Others who meet the guidelines are eligible for food subsidized by government funds. Other requests for food assistance are handled on an individual basis.
Bethlehem residents who meet the financial guidelines of the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program are eligible to receive fuel assistance on a graduated scale from the Bethlehem Fuel Bank. Requests for fuel assistance from other Bethlehem residents are evaluated on an individual basis. Applications may be completed at the Caring for Bethlehem Resource Center.
Bethlehem residents who fall within the financial limits of the ALICE Threshold (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) may be eligible to receive assistance from the Bethlehem Assistance Fund, the Pfahl Family Children's Fund, or the Caring for Bethlehem Community Fund. Applications may be completed at the Caring for Bethlehem Resource Center or with the Bethlehem Assistance Coordinator.
