Badminton

Badminton Drop-in will run March 10, 11, 12. (3:15-4:30)

 March 10- grade 8

March 11- grade 7

March 12 grade 7 & 8

Badminton tryouts will be held starting March 16th. There are 16 sports for grade 7s and 16 spots for grade 8s. The way badminton is set up, each school will send 2 girls singles, 2 boys singles, 2 girls doubles, 2 boys doubles and 2 mixed doubles team from each grade. (If you are unable to attend on your tryout night, you need to speak with Mrs. Clattenburg ahead of time as we will be running a double elimination bracket to see who the top 2 teams are for each categorie) 

 March 16-17 - Singles tryouts 3:15-5 - additional days if needed 

March 17-18-19 - Doubles tryouts 3:15-5 - additional days if needed

March 18,19, 23 - Mixed Doubles tryouts 3:15-5 - additional days if needed

Badminton practices will run Monday-Thursday. 3:15-4:30. Students in Grade 7 and 8  and who have made the team are encouraged to come as many nights as they can. Badminton is a very short season.  Those who do not make the team are welcome to join on Mondays after school from 3:15-4:30, starting in April. (0nce tryouts for our team are completed)

Parents of athletes who make the team will receive an email  (permission form) that will need to be submitted prior to April 8th. 

The first Badminton meet will be held at the CLC here in Olds, on April  15 starting at 1pm. Students will play other athletes from our division and if finishing in the top 1 or 2 depending on the category they are competing in, they will qualify for Zones that are held May 2nd  - Hosted in Brooks
