Badminton

Badminton tryouts will be held March 23rd. There are 10 sports for grade 7s and 10 spots for grade 8s. The way badminton is set up, each school will send 2 girls singles, 2 boys singles, 1 girls doubles, 1 boys doubles and 1 mixed doubles team from each grade. 

Badminton practices will run Monday-Thursday. Monday and  Wednesday will be 3:15-4:30. Tuesday and Thursday practice will be from 5-6:15. Students in Grade 7 and 8  and who have made the team are encouraged to come as many nights as they can. Badminton is a very short season.  Those who do not make the team are welcome to join on Mondays after school from 3:15-4:30, starting in April. (0nce tryouts for our team are completed)

Parents of athletes who make the team will receive an email  (permission form) that will need to be submitted prior to April 8th. 

The first Badminton meet will be held at the CLC here in Olds, on April 15th starting at 4pm. Students will play other athletes from our division and if finishing in the top 1 or 2 depending on the category they are competing in will qualify for Zones that are held May 10th - Hosted by Rockyview (Potentially at Springbank Middle?)
