Our SST is a team of highly trained and dedicated educators, including Student Support Coordinators, SPED Staff, SEL Staff, and others that help students with academic or behavioral concerns by identifying areas for growth and connecting them to appropriate interventions and supports. SSTs can monitor student progress, develop intervention plans, refer students to intervention services (e.g., reading or math specialist, counseling, intensive case management), and implement increasing levels ( Levels 1-5) of school-based intervention services.

The SEL Tier 3 Counseling is a 1-1 or small group (depending on the need) counseling by a team of 3rd and 4th-year Psychology Doctoral Interns led by internal staff, Dr. Mitchell Casados and Dr. Yolanda Vazquez. These counseling sessions are free of charge to students, families, and staff. If you are interested in this support, please contact your Independent Study Teacher (IST) and they will refer you to our service. Our current turnaround from the time we get an email from your IST to the time you first get a call from the SEL Tier 3 team is less than 2 weeks. Learn more about what we do by clicking here.
