insTuner is a wonderful free tuning app students can use to make sure their instruments are in tune. They can also check all of the notes on their instrument to see each note's tuning tendencies.
Smart Metronome & Tuner is a free app that is convenient because it combines two music necessities into one application. Students can use this as a tuner and also as a metronome to help them keep the beat while they are practicing at home.
This is a free app that is basically a database of fingerings for all of the instruments in band class. Students simply choose their instrument and then the note they need to look up and it shows the fingering for it.
This free app is for the percussionists. It shows all of the rudiments, how to properly stick them, and allows the student to click on a link that sends them to youtube to listen to how the rudiment sounds or to watch an instructional video on how to perform it.
A free app for percussionists that allows the student to play rudiments and get feedback as to if they played the rudiment in time or not.
This is an app that does cost money to download and it is the equivalent of what you would find at musictheory.net. It is just easier to access through the app on the iPad.
This app walks students through music theory lessons and has a lot of resources, including a metronome, piano, and ear training lessons.
The free website is called www.musictheory.net
This website is free, however you can purchase the app which has easier access. An amazing tool for students to instantly build a sight reading exercise according to their playing ability. Sight reading is a great skill that helps students read music faster and more accurately.
This website allows students to listen to a rhythmic example and pick the correct answer. It is great for practicing reading rhythms and it allows students to choose which rhythms to include.
The app that goes with this website is not very user friendly, at least to me.
