There are 4 buckets, blue, green, yellow, and red. Each student has a clip with their name on it.
Every day is a new start and everyone’s clip starts in the green bucket.
Every day is a new start and everyone’s clip starts in the green bucket. The green bucket means we are all “ready to learn” and we are showing whole body listening and following directions. The green bucket is where we want to be and stay!
The yellow bucket recognizes a warning. When the clip is moved to yellow, your child has been warned 2 times and the behavior has not changed. After 2 warnings, the child physically moves his/her clip off the green bucket and onto the yellow bucket. Your child has the opportunity to make good choices and work to have his/her clip moved back to the green bucket.
If there is still a behavioral issue, the clip moves to red. This is not a good place to be. This means the behavior has continued through many reminders and chances to correct the problem If your child moves to red, they will have a consequence of missing playtime. If the behavior continues, I will need your help.
After a few times on the red bucket, a note will be sent home that needs to be signed and returned. I will call to make sure there isn’t something else I should be doing to correct the behavior.
The blue bucket is when a student is going above and beyond during the day. Examples are helping friends, being a good listener, and doing neat work. When a student gets their name in the blue bucket, they can earn a blue ticket!
I am anxious to get to know my new kindergarten friends and discover each one's unique and special personality. I believe in working hard to develop a very positive, affirming, loving and caring classroom and finding the positive in all of my students. With all of us working together, this year holds great promise.
