The elementary school program uses the COMPASS LEARNING/ ODYSSEY platform and includes online learning with real world experiences.

The curriculum is based on scientific research, pedagogically sound instruction, and proven best practices. Each lesson in Compass has been hand selected to align with Central Valley’s curriculum and students are provided offline materials to complete that help reinforce the lessons. Real-time assessments provide continuous feedback so students know how they are performing at all times.

In addition, Central Valley Online Academy allows for asynchronous instruction where students can participate in the learning at the time of day that best meets their needs. CVOA students may access videos and materials at their own pace and properly certified Central Valley teachers monitor and grade the Compass activities. These teachers are also available for instructional support that may be needed.

**Special Courses offered include: Art, Music Appreciation, Library and Physical Education. For these courses students will be responsible for logging hours to meet the state requirements for each subject area.
