Central Park Christian Church is an independent, non-denominational church that serves as a point of light in the Central Park neighborhood of Topeka. We serve our community in a variety of ways, including an active youth ministry, a weekly recovery program, a monthly food and clothing pantry, a warming center for the homeless during extreme weather, and so much more.
At the same time, our mission is to reach the lost for Christ and help people grow in discipleship so that we reflect Christ in our daily lives. Toward this end, we teach people the Bible, making it understandable for the person who didn’t grow up in the church while challenging even the most mature believer. In November 2024, Rick Fleming began his tenure as Lead Pastor of the church, and he preaches in the expository style, going verse by verse through the text to explain its meaning and make application for the 21st century believer.
Anyone who is genuinely seeking to find or follow Christ is welcome here, no matter what they did in the past or how they dress. The most beautiful thing about our church is that everyone who decides to come here is the kind of person who is willing to say, “Come, sit by me and let’s worship the Lord together.”
If you are looking for a church where you can serve the Lord by loving your neighbors in tangible ways, we have many opportunities for you here. And if you are looking for a church that holds fast to the truth of God’s Word and proclaims it boldly, please come and join us this Sunday!
Church History
Central Park Christian Church began as a Bible School organized in 1896. The original church building was completed in 1904, and the current building was dedicated on May 28, 1922. In December 2004, the church was revitalized as a sister church of Northland Christian Church, sparking growth in membership and a renovation of facilities. Since that time, Central Park Christian Church has reestablished itself as an independent non-denominational church.
