Artist statement- We looked at a video on all the different elements of art and then we make our own poster of all of them and we drew stuff that represented the elements like line's shapes, colors, and more.

Oil pastels, and watercolor paints 2017

Artist statement- For my project i wanted to make an animal in it’s natural habitat so i painted a zebra drinking water and a grassy place where it was hot out. If I would do this project again i would add another animal in the background and add more details. My favorite part about my painting was making the background and all the details behind the zebra. I used oil pastels to paint my picture and then from the wax of the oil pastels being dried on the paper we used watercolor paints to make it look better and the we crinkled the picture to make it look better. Then I painted it with black and then cleaned it off to give it a cool looking effect.

Ceramic Faces

For our latest art project we made these clay masks, mines name is illusion because i tried making an optical illusion in the ears. First we had to get a chunk of clay and roll it out with a rolling pin until it was flat and the right length we wanted it to be. Then we had to use certain tools to cut out the eyes and ears and stuff we needed. Then we used this mixture which was like glue that was made of clay and water so the pieces stuck to our clay faces. Then we fired them in the kiln and used different kinds of paints so we could get them the color that we wanted. If i could redo this I would because I am not happy with the colors that I choose and they don’t match and my clay figure had a mustache that fell off in the kiln.
