Avery Schutt“Title”
10x11, Colored pencils and black sharpie , 2019
This picture in my mind is surreal because the hat is just floating in front of the character in the background. It also is just the hat and the character then a red border then black which doesn't show anything but the hat and the character. To me this symbolises the bond of a well dressed person and their bond to their hat, that is shown by the hat being in front of the face of the character which makes it seem like the hat is the face of him. If I were to start over I would try and find a different color for the characters skin, to me it pops out to much and isn't as realistic as I wanted it to be. I love the quote I got from a dutch person underneath it, but thats not really the picture. I really love hat because it is one hat that my friend was wearing on halloween. Cool hat.
Avery Schutt “Blurry David”
10x11, printmaking black ink, grey toned paper, 2019
The style of this piece was intended to be abstract, but i pressed down a bit to hard when I was tracing the design onto this paper. This picture is of my friend Davids halloween costume from 8th grade. I chose to do it because I liked the costume. I would try to pressdown lighter so he is a little more blurry and abstract. I love how he looks like he is either fading away to nothing or materializing from nothing.
Avery Schutt “Drew”
10x12, Graphite Pencils, Blending tools, 2=019
This drawing entitles "drew is in the style of realism. This photo is one form when I was in 8th grade. We were at recess and my buddy jon and Drew were wearing their sweatshirts on their heads and I took a picture because it was funny. If I could change anything, I would go back and choose jon to draw. Jon would be easier. I love how I put Drew in the desert. It fitting because of how he looks in the picture.
